My New Condo

Having lived in houses ever since I was born, I've decided to spend the rest of my life in a condominium.

Dear: " Mom, why is the construction prodeeding very slow? I want to move in now. I want my new bedroom!"
Mom: " It's my plan to keep you with me as long as I can. Hahaha...."

Mom and Dear practised cooking on the kitchen counter.

The kitchen cabinet's door is made of white laminated MDF, to avoid moisture and compression.

But the interior part is made of teak, to avoid pest.

I have the old toilet bowl cover replaced with a new one.

Dear tried to imagine where the television and home theatre should be in the living room.

The installation of the kitchen furnitures has started. The furnitures were designed and made by Kitchenette, the kitchen cabinet manufacturer of which one of the owners is my friend "Addy". We have known each other since we were at Chulalongkorn University and also at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The cabinets and bookshelves in the living room.

The wood panel has been installed above the counter sink in Mom's bathroom. The mirror and a small granite shelf will be later installed on this panel.

It's a pity the decoration in my bedroom has gone nowhere lately due to the recent shortage of wood veneer. It is expected to be available next week.

Bookshelves were installed above the desk in Dear's bedroom.

Sets of drawers were waiting for final finishing and installation.

Our family has quite a lot of Buddha images so we need a special place to store them and to pay respect to them. A cabinet in front of Mom's bedroom is quite fit for this purpose. The cabinet door was designed to be sliding into the small gaps at the left and the right of the cabinet so as to save space when fully opened.

A wood panel was installed above the bedroom window. The panel will serve not only as the window cornice to conceal the curtain fixtures, but also as the foundation on which the wall-type air-conditioner will be installed.

A wood cabinet was installed under the air duct in the living room. A glass cupboard will be later installed on the right of the cabinet, to store some ancient chinawares (Lai Kram).

Behind the wood cabinet in the living room is this panel, which is the first thing we see when we enter the condominium unit. The panel, located bewteen the living room and the foyer, is made of green laminated glass, on which a small white granite shelf is fixed.

As Dear requested earlier, the drawers at his desk was adjusted bigger so that he can store his computer CDs.

The size of Dear's bed is 5 feet by 6.5 feet (Queen-sized) although he plans to have a 3.5 feet by 6.5 feet (twin-sized) mattress.

Mom makes sure the structure of the wardrobe fits her needs.
